Dr. Laura Eslinger
Dr. Eslinger's motives for being a veterinary professional are best put in her own words, “I feel that the human-animal bond is a mutually beneficial and dynamic relationship that is essential to the well-being of both. I thoroughly believe in the power of the human-animal bond and feel it is my role to maximize the potential of this relationship.” A native of Delaware, Dr. Laura and her family moved to Bradenton in 1991, where she grew up, attending elementary school through high school in the beautiful town of Bradenton. After graduation, Laura attended the University of South Florida where she received her B.S. in Biology with emphasis in pre-veterinary studies. After spending 3 years working as a veterinary assistant at a holistic practice, she knew it was time to make her since-childhood dream of becoming a vet come true.
In January of 2006, Laura began her studies at the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts where she became the vice president of PAWS (People for Animal Welfare on St. Kitts), a student-run organization providing supplies, medical care and foster homes to homeless animals on St. Kitts. After completing her clinical rotation at the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida she graduated from Ross University, with honors, in 2009. Dr. Laura received her Certification of Veterinary Acupuncture from the Chi Institute in 2015.
Dr. Laura has been practicing in the local Bradenton area since graduating in 2009, and after 8 years of private practice she decided to start her own mobile veterinary practice. Dependable, compassionate & trustworthy, you always know what you can expect with Dr. Laura, and that, of course, may be one of her famous HUGS! Dr. Laura is known for providing caring, dedicated and personalized veterinary care to her patients, and now in a home-based setting. Dr. Laura feels that being a veterinarian has always been her calling and being mobile allows her to spend quality time with her clients, providing a much more personalized touch to veterinary medicine and being able to listen to the whole story, while still offering the same compassionate care that all her clients have come to love.
Dr. Laura has been the recipient of the Hill’s Scholarship Compassionate Animal Care Award and was nominated for the Small Animal Proficiency Award. Her professional interests include small animal internal and preventative medicine, acupuncture and oncology.
When Dr. Eslinger is not taking care of her wonderful patients you can always find her with her husband and amazing son, as well as their crazy French Bulldog named “Doc” and her 11 year old rescue kitty from the island of St. Kitts, lovingly named “Mama-cat” -- take note to look for them riding around in a town near you!
Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Beth and her family moved to Sarasota in 1986, where she grew up raising her cats and dogs and always begging her parents for more and more animals. It was a natural next step that veterinary medicine would be in her future. Beth attended St. Petersburg College, graduating in 2008 with an A.S. in Veterinary Technology and proudly became a Certified Veterinary Technician. Beth is passionate about all aspects of veterinary medicine but has an especially keen interest in anesthesia and surgery/dentistry. She prides herself on making a difference in her patients’ and their families lives. You’ll often hear her singing gently to her patients as they recover from surgery. Beth’s compassionate care and attention to detail are just a couple of her many traits that make her a great technician.
Beth still resides in Sarasota with her husband Eric Asher and Sydney, their 2½ year old Brittany spaniel mix. Beth and Eric adopted Sydney from their favorite rescue group, Florida Brittany Rescue, in 2015. She is the center of their lives and one spoiled pup! She gets to go to work with either one of them every day. They plan on adding another fur baby to their pack very soon. Outside of work, Beth's interests include the outdoors, fitness, cooking, painting, and crocheting.
Dr. Laura and Beth have been working in private practice together for the past 8 years. Together, they bring warmth, knowledge, and a special connection…it'll feel as though you’ve known them forever.
Dr. Laura Eslinger became our vet 6 years ago. She took on a lot when she
agreed to be the vet of the "Myakka Pack" consisting of anywhere between 6
to 8 dogs. The first time I asked if it would be OK to book 4 annual exams
together, she said of course; this was just a huge time saver for me and also
for my dogs who loved being together as much as possible.
Every visit with
her, my dogs & I felt comfortable and relaxed; I always left learning
something new from her on better ways to care for my large pack of dogs.
Earlier this year our Nelson, a 10 year old Brittany, was diagnosed by Dr.
Laura with cancer of his anal sac gland, she helped my husband and I deal
with the devastating news and her excellent contacts with other specialists
in the community helped get him into the right hands quickly and soon on the
path to being cancer free. Nelson suffers from seizures and doesn't do well
under stress so we were all concerned how he would do coming out of the
surgery. When we learned that Dr. Laura was there for him during his recovery
period, even though it was her day off, it was just so touching...words really
cannot describe how heartfelt this gesture was to us.
Dr. Laura is a vet you can trust with her knowledge and be there for you
whenever she possibly can.
We look forward to Dr. Laura's Mobile Animal Hospital making our lives even
easier and so does the Myakka Pack!
Dr. Laura has provided excellent care to my "special" dog Gordie. Gordie was rescued from a terrible situation, and his first vet check revealed urinary infections, heartworm, and horrible ear infections. Dr. Laura came up with a treatment plan that set Gordie on the road to recovery without overtaxing his weakened immune system. Dr. Laura's patient and kind handling of Gordie, who was very fearful of human contact, helped him learn to trust in the people that were trying to help him.
One of the many challenges Dr Laura faced with Gordie was clearing the antibiotic resistant staph and Pseudomonas infections in his ears. Dr. Laura always explained her treatment approach, thoughtfully answered my many questions, and made me feel like "part of the team" by listening to my input, discussing options, and adjusting the treatment plan until finally Gordie's ear was infection free.
I am ever so grateful for Dr. Laura's response to my concerns for Gordie's well-being when he was increasingly experiencing serious pain in his hind leg. It was Dr. Laura's compassion for little Gordie and diligence to find the root cause of his pain that led to his life-changing surgery. I can't imagine what Gordie's life would be like without the wonderful Dr. Laura.
Dr. Laura has examined and treated nearly every single dog we have rescued now approaching 150, and Beth has not only assisted Dr. Laura, but she has also given most of them dentals and cared for them after procedures.
They have both supported our efforts and gone above and beyond in giving their attention to these dogs. They have treated and healed dogs that other veterinarians had given up on or misdiagnosed, remarkably remembering all the dogs names and issues even years later. As we follow these rescued dogs in their new homes we marvel at how this duo has helped to give them a new lease on life.
We were privileged to have been one of their first home visits in their new vet-mobile. We were pleasantly surprised to observe how the patient dog has no anxiety because he didn't have to be transported to a strange place and that he had a remarkable recovery from his surgery and dental because he wasn’t stressed, and he was eating and exercising soon after the event. We are so thankful to have Dr. Laura's Mobile Animal Hospital here in Manatee County to help our rescue dogs, we look forward to rescuing more dogs knowing we have such a qualified team behind us!
DR. LAURA HAS TAKEN CARE OF OUR GYPSY EVER SINCE WE ADOPTED HER AS A RESCUE. SHE HAS BEEN THRU IT ALL WITH US AND HELPING TO GET OUR BABY TO WHERE SHE IS TODAY. SHE NEVER GAVE UP IN SEEKING TO FIND WHAT GYPSY'S MEDICAL NEEDS WERE AND FINDING A SOLUTION TO THEM, GYPSY IS NOW A BEAUTIFUL, HAPPY AND HEALTHY SENIOR PET. WISH DR. LAURA ALL THE BEST AND KNOW THAT WE WERE LOST WITHOUT HER.
Dr. Laura has been our veterinarian for years and I trust her whole heartedly. She takes time to understand our pups needs and genuinely cares for them. One pup is scared to visit the inside of a traditional clinic (likely because prior to us she had been left at an animal shelter 4 times in 4 years - we have had her for the last 4.5 years ).
However, she eagerly jumped into and explored Dr. Laura's mobile clinic without hesitation. The other pup has some genetic issues that I would only trust Dr. Laura and Beth with. Dr. Laura not only took the time to understand him and as his craziness, she adapts her treatment plan as his issues change over time. Both Dr. Laura and Beth are patient with him and the biggest testimonial is how happy he gets when he sees them. Even prior to her mobile clinic, she would always sit on the floor to get his kisses and give him belly rubs. She is an amazing doctor and I would recommend her to anyone.
Their are Vets and then there is Dr. Laura, you will never find a more compassionate, knowledgeable veterinarian than her!!! The caring and love she transmits to the animals has to be experienced!! For me their is no other Vet I want my animals to be cared for, except by Dr. Laura.
Dr. Laura and Miss Beth cared for my dad's dog, Cocoa, the day before Thanksgiving. Cocoa is not the best patient and can be temperamental. They both were so gentle and patient that Cocoa was cooperative. We are forever patients now. Thank you!
Dr Laura has been caring for our tribe of furry kids, (aka The Jonz Kids), for many years. Her professionalism, deep level of care, love and commitment for animals is unsurpassed.
Like many animal lovers, our kids are our world, and even though some of ours happen to be feral, she always finds a work around to get the job done. Which is really paying off-our oldest is now 21- thanks to great vet care!! . I have trusted her opinions, treatment plans and overall knowledge for so many years, I really can’t image our lives, especially with the ferals, without her. Thank you Dr Laura, you are an amazing woman & Doctor. ❤️ We are so very happy for you as you start this new chapter,
Dr. Laura and Beth are so professional, kind and fun! I have been with Dr. Laura for almost 3 years since my dog came home as a puppy.
After having dogs for over 50 years I found the BEST veterinarian and new friend to our pet and family, in Dr. Laura. Her love for animals is apparent within moments of meeting her; her professional knowledge is always complete, confident and shared with the owner. I am so grateful for her veterinarian services and her amazing, happy, bubbly personality, every time we see each other. I highly recommended her BEFORE she got the mobile animal hospital but now, more than ever, I can say that this new service, is by far the very best in pet care! She and Beth get FIVE STARS from me!
